ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Mathilde Canet and Easton Hammond established new personal-bests during day two of the University of New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Saturday.
Competing in the men's heptathlon for the first time, the freshman Hammond scored 5097 points, which puts him seventh-all time in Texas State history. Hammond set two new PR's on Saturday, one in the pole vault with a vault of 4.30m/14-1.25 and the other in the 1000 meters, where he ran a 2.44.79.
Canet recorded a jump of 11.90m/39-0.5 in the women's triple jump to set a new PR. The jump was over a meter better than her previous best.
The Bobcats will return to action next weekend with the Corky Classic in Lubbock.
