SAN MARCOS, Texas – After being on the road for the past two weekends, Texas State women's tennis returns to the Bobcat Tennis Complex on Friday to take on New Mexico State at 1 p.m.

The Bobcats (4-2) head into the matchup with NMSU carrying a four-match winning streak, which is the largest winning streak for the team since 2019. In the four matches, they outscored their opponents 6-1, 4-3, 4-0 and 6-1.

Andrea Pineda currently holds a four-match winning streak in singles and has won three of those four matches in straight sets on courts five and four.Â

The doubles pair of
Sofia Fortuno and
Maria Lora also come into the match with a four-match winning streak on court two. The duo has yet to lose a double match this season.Â

On court No. 3, the doubles pair of
Emma Carr and
Emily Niers looks to build on their success last weekend, where they won both of their matches and earned their first wins as a doubles pair.Â

The Aggies currently hold a 2-4 record on the season coming into the match with the Bobcats.Â

NMSU is led by sophomore Anna Pinaieva, who on court one is 4-2 in singles and 3-3 in doubles. Pinaieva was named to the All-WAC First Team as a freshman last year.Â

This will be the fourth matchup between Texas State and New Mexico State and the first time the two have faced off since 2015. The Bobcats lead the series 2-1, despite the Aggies winning the last match up 5-2.Â
