Bobcats Fall 4-1 to Louisiana Tech on the Road

RUSTON, LA— Texas State women's tennis dropped a 4-1 decision to Louisiana Tech on Saturday afternoon at the LA Tech Tennis Complex in Ruston, Louisiana.

The Bobcats battled throughout but were unable to recover after dropping the doubles point, as Louisiana Tech secured the victory behind strong singles play.

The loss moves Texas State to 9-6 overall, including a 3-4 mark on the road.

Doubles
Louisiana Tech secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.

On court one, Olivia Collins and Ireland Simme dropped a 6-0 decision to nationally ranked Zoie Epps and Isabella Walker.

Chantajah Mills and Emily Niers fell 6-3 on court three to Diana Starodubtseva and June Vigneron, clinching the doubles point for Louisiana Tech.

The match on court two featuring Stoney Cooks and Charlotte Roesch was left unfinished at 5-3.

Singles
Texas State picked up its lone point on court two as Ireland Simme earned a straight-set victory, defeating Nina Skoric 7-5, 6-1.

Louisiana Tech responded with wins across multiple courts to secure the match. On court five, Stoney Cooks fell 6-3, 6-1 to June Vigneron, followed by a 6-4, 6-4 loss from Emily Niers on court one against Zoie Epps.

On court four, Charlotte Roesch dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision to Maria Tsironi as Louisiana Tech clinched the match.

Texas State will return to action Sunday at 11 a.m. against conference opponent Louisiana.
