Texas State Hosts UTSA, Tyler JC for Final Home Weekend

SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State women's tennis returns home for its final two matches of the season this weekend, hosting UTSA and Tyler Junior College at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

The Bobcats will welcome I-35 rival UTSA on Friday at 1 p.m. as part of the program's annual "Tacos at Tennis" promotion. Texas State will then host Tyler Junior College on Saturday at 10 a.m. for Senior Day, with a pre-match senior recognition ceremony scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Seniors Emily Niers and Ireland Simme will be recognized for their commitment and impact on the Texas State women's tennis program.

Texas State enters the weekend following a four-match road stretch, going 2-2 with Sun Belt Conference wins over Georgia State (4-1) and Louisiana (4-2).

UTSA enters Friday's match with an 8-9 overall record, including a perfect 4-0 mark in American Conference play. The Roadrunners have found success at home (8-2) but have struggled on the road with an 0-6 record. UTSA dropped its last three matches to Tulsa, North Texas and UT Arlington.

Texas State holds a 7-13 all-time record against UTSA and will look to snap a nine-match losing streak in the series. The Roadrunners claimed last season's meeting, 4-1.
