LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas State track and field wrapped up day two of the Jarvis Scott Open on Saturday and left with two first-place finishes and three Bobcats finding a new spot in the record book.
"This was a great meet for our team to finish the regular season," said Texas State Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
John Frazier. "We had many high-level performances that has given us much needed confidence to achieve our goals going into the conference in just over a week."
Melanie Duron took home gold for the second week in a row in the women's shot put. Duron recorded a mark of 16.35m/53-7.75, which is the fifth-best throw in school history.

Aiden Hayes became the first Bobcat in 23 years to clear seven feet in the men's indoor high jump after he recorded a 2.15m/7-0.5 mark, which is the third-best jump in school history. Hayes placed fourth overall in the event and now sits second in the Sun Belt rankings.
