SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time this season Texas State will hit the road when it travels to Fort Worth to take on TCU as two 2-0 teams face off in the Schollmaier Arena on Tuesday at 7 p.m. It is the first of six consecutive games away from San Marcos for the Bobcats.

About Texas State
TXST has won its first two games of a season for the first time in four years following a 102-62 win over McMurry this past Friday. The victory was the eighth consecutive win at Strahan Arena. Tuesday is the lone game this season against a Power 4 team.
Kaden Gumbs scored a career-high 27 points to increase his scoring average to 21.0 points per game, the highest by a Bobcat after two games in 14 years. The sophomore is also recording 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Drue Drinnon is the only other player with a double-digit scoring average at 13.5 ppg following his career-high performance of 21 points versus the Warhawks and has knocked down a squad best seven three-pointers.
Joshua O'Garro is coming off a career best 17-point performance to average 9.0 ppg and leads the team with 6.5 rpg.
About TCU
The Horned Frogs opened the season with victories against Florida A&M and Florida Gulf Coast. Tuesday is the third of eight non-conference home games for them and the first of two against a Sun Belt Conference opponent. The other is against South Alabama on Dec. 16.
Leading the team in scoring is Vasean Allette at 17.0 ppg on 51.9% shooting while coming off the bench in the first two contests. Frankie Collins and Ernest Udeh, Jr. are averaging 10.5 and 10.0 ppg, respectively. Udeh is grabbing 9.0 rpg with eight of his 10 rebounds coming on the offensive glass.
Series History
TCU has won all three previous meetings with all of them taking place in Fort Worth. The last time the teams met was Nov. 24, 2009 that ended 108-99 in triple overtime. It was the longest game in Texas State history until it was matched by a triple overtime contest at UT Arlington on Feb. 28, 2020.
The largest margin of defeat for the Bobcats has been 12 points (64-52) on Jan. 3, 2005. The first time the teams met was a 91-88 contest on Nov. 28, 2001.
