SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team (2-4) continues action on the road on Saturday when it travels to take on UT Arlington (3-2) on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip from the College Park Center.

The Bobcats are coming off back-to-back losses in the Louisiana Tech MTE to McNeese and Southern Utah.
Kaden Gumbs led the team in scoring in both contests including his first career double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds versus the Thunderbirds. He now leads the team with 10.7 points, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Brandon Love enters the game putting up 10.3 ppg while grabbing a team-high 6.8 rebounds a contest. The junior forward has blocked 19 shots to lead the Sun Belt Conference and tie for the most in the nation.

Saturday is the second of three straight home games for the Mavericks. They are 3-0 at home with wins over Alcorn State, Oral Roberts and UT Tyler. Their losses have been at No. 3 Arizona and New Mexico.

Shemar Wilson comes in leading UTA in scoring (15.8), shooting percentage (54.9%), free throw percentage (68.8%) and blocks (9). Both he (10.0 rpg) and DaJuan Gordon (11.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg) are averaging a double-double on the season.

Also netting double-digits per contest is Kade Douglas at 11.0 ppg. The freshman guard has seen 13 of his 14 made field goals come from beyond the arc.

The Mavs lead the all-time series 41-38 but the Bobcats have the last two meetings and five of the last six. Last year saw TXST win 71-65 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth behind
Nighael Ceaser's double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds.

When playing in Arlington, Texas State is 13-23 all-time. The last victory was a 63-56 contest on Feb. 11, 2021 while the last meeting in the College Park Center went in UTA's favor 70-58 on Jan. 27, 2022.
