SAN MARCOS, Texas – The first game of the 2023-24 MAC-SBC Challenge will see Texas State travel to Ohio to face Maimi (OH) on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT from Mallett Hall.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and fans can also catch the game on the Varsity Sports Network with Clint Shields providing the action. Live stats will also be available.

Brandon Love recorded his first career double-double with 13 points, 11 coming in the first half, and a career-high 10 rebounds. Also netting double-figures was

Texas State grabbed 53 rebounds against the Trojans, the most versus a Division I opponent since the team had 56 int a triple overtime contest at UT Arlington on Feb. 28, 2020. The 53 boards are tied for the second most by a Sun Belt Conference team this season and ranks tied for 17th nationally.
About Miami (OH)
The RedHawks are coming off a 72-64 loss at Evansville on Monday to open their campaign. Darweshi Hunter led the team with 21 points as he knocked down 6-of-8 three-point attempts. Eian Elmer had a team-high seven rebounds in six minutes of action but also committed four fouls in that time.
Miami made 25-of-52 (48.1%) shots and were 10-for-20 from beyond the arc. However, the team was just 4-for-11 (36.4%) at the free throw line and committed 25 fouls to allow Evansville to attempt 30 charity stripe shots.
In the MAC preseason poll, the RedHawks were picked to finish tied for sixth with Bowling Green.
All-Time Series
Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between the teams.
It will be the fifth-ever meeting for the Bobcats against a team from the MAC and they have gone 1-3 in the previous contests. The lone win was a 94-91 game on Nov. 18, 2011 in Edinburg, Texas against Toledo. Losses have been to Ball State (1988) and Central Michigan (2012) on the road and Northern Illinois (1990) at home.
