SAN MARCOS, Texas – The first road weekend in Sun Belt Conference play concludes on Saturday when Texas State (8-8, 1-2 Sun Belt) plays at South Alabama (7-8, 1-2 Sun Belt) on Saturday. Tip is at 2 p.m. inside the Mitchell Center.

The Bobcats' one-point win over James Madison saw
Brandon Davis lead the team in scoring with a season-high 16 points. The victory was the sixth away from San Marcos to tie for the most in the Sun Belt with the Dukes.
Leading the way offensively is
Mason Harrell at 17.2 points per game. The senior guard moved up to second on the program's career minutes list, surpassing current assistant coach
Donte Mathis. Harrell also leads the team in made field goals (95), three-pointers (24), free throws (61) and steals (19).
Nighael Ceaser is second on the team in scoring at 9.9 ppg and has grabbed 9.3 rebounds a contest that included a stretch of three consecutive games with 10 or more.
Tyrel Morgan enters averaging 8.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg while shooting a team best 46.7% from the field.
About South Alabama
Thursday saw the Jaguars pick up their first conference win over Arkansas State. USA began league play with road losses against Georgia Southern and Georgia State. At home this season, the Jaguars are 4-1 with non-conference victories over Jacksonville State, Mobile and Spring Hill while the lone loss was by 10 to Alabama back on Nov. 15.
Isaiah Moore leads USA in scoring (18.0), made field goals (107), made free throws (36) and assists (66). He also is tied for the most steals (17) with Tyrell Jones. Keven Samuel, a transfer who played last year at Florida Gulf Coast and three seasons at TCU, comes in grabbing 9.4 rpg and shooting 64.5% from the field while scoring 11.0 ppg. Of the team's 61 blocks, the graduate student has recorded 34 of them.
Also with a double-digit scoring average is Greg Parham II at 10.9 ppg. Owen White enters with 34 of his 42 made shots coming from beyond the arc.
All-Time Series
Saturday will be the 14 meeting between the programs that sees Texas State hold a 9-4 lead in the all-time series. Last season, the Bobcats won the lone meeting 55-52 in Mobile. The victory clinched the second straight Sun Belt regular season title. TXST is 3-4 when playing the Jaguars on the road.
