SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team (11-11, 4-5 Sun Belt) hits the road to take on Southern Miss (18-4, 7-2 Sun Belt) for the first-time every on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Reed Green Coliseum.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and fans can also tune into KTSW 89.9 FM and the Varsity Sports Network app to listen to Clint Shields on the call.

A three-point victory on Thursday snapped a three-game skid for the Bobcats.
Nighael Ceaser matched his career-high with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting off the bench. Also netting a career best was
Davion Coleman, who scored 16 points behind a career-high three made three-pointers.
Mason Harrell paces the team offensively at 16.2 ppg with 29 made three-pointers and 21 steals. He is eighth in program history in scoring at 1,373 points and needs 13 more to surpass Kavin Gilder-Tilbury for seventh place.
Behind Harrell, three players are putting up at least seven points a contest in
Nate Martin (7.5),
Tyrel Morgan (8.6) and Ceaser (8.5), who also leads the squad with 6.9 rpg.
Drue Drinnon leads TXST with 54 assists and 22 steals.
Jordan Mason has started the last eight games and has scored at least 10 points in three consecutive games. In that span, he is contributing 9.1 ppg on 48.1% shooting, 3.8 rpg, 1.8 apg and 1.4 spg.
About Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles extended its winning streak to four games with a 73-57 victory over the Arkansas State on Thursday. At home, USM is undefeated at 11-0 and has had a crowd of over 4,100 the past three contests.
Austin Crowley leads the team in scoring (17.3), made field goals (144), made three-pointers (44) and steals. He has also dished out 57 assists. Both Felipe Haase (14.4) and DeAndre Pickney (14.2) are averaging just over 14 points a contest. Haase sports a team best 40.4% from beyond the arc and 82.4% at the free throw line while Pickney paces the Golden Eagles with 7.1 rpg and 59 made free throws.
Dishing out a team-high 79 assists is Mo Arnold. The point guard has also recorded 37 steals.

Saturday is the first meeting between the two programs. It will be the third ever-game in the state of Mississippi for the Bobcats with the first coming on Nov. 27, 2004 at Alcorn State (W, 65-49) and the most recent being on Nov. 30, 2020 at Mississippi State (L, 68-51).
