SAN MARCOS, Texas- The Texas State tennis team was named a 2022 Division I Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, and six Bobcats were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced on Monday.
The ITA released their list of 250 Division I women's tennis programs that were awarded the All-Academic team distinction and 1,517 women student-athletes that were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
For the seventh season in a row, the Texas State tennis program was named an ITA All-Academic team, the Bobcats first earned the title in 2016.

Renata Gonzalez,
Hana Kvapilova,
Maria Lora,
Kate Malazonia, and
Mae McCutcheon were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
During the season, Kvapilova and McCutcheon picked up their first conference player of the week awards. Kvapilova and Malazonia were selected to All-Sun Belt First and Second teams in April.
The six Bobcats that earned the honor ties the amount that were selected in the 2017 season, the most ITA Scholar-Athlete selections come from the 2016 season with seven.
To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic team award, the program must have a team grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete award, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
