SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State seniors
Tristan Stivors and
Dalton Shuffield were named
Collegiate Baseball All-Americans on Thursday. Stivors was chosen to the first team, the first Bobcat to earn top team honors by any publication in team history, and Shuffield was selected to the second team.

For the third time in program history has TXST had two All-Americans in the same year. The 2009 team saw Kane Holbrooks and Paul Goldschmidt earn the honors and in 2011, Casey Kalenkosky and Carson Smith picked up the accolades.

Heading into the NCAA Stanford Regional, Stivors leads the nation in saves with 17. His save total is the most by a TXST hurler in a season. The All-Sun Belt Conference First Team honoree is also 7-1 with a 2.43 ERA and is third on the team with 72 strikeouts in 52 innings spanning 30 games.

Earlier this season Stivors set the Bobcats' career record and is at 26 heading into this weekend's contests. His career saves total ranks as the fifth most in Sun Belt history.

Shuffield has put up stellar numbers on his way to being named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week and picking up first team all-conference honors. He come in batting .390 with 87 hits of which 37 (20 2B, 12 HR, 5 3B) have gone for extra-bases. The shortstop has also scored 76 times, driven in 47 runs and swiped 16 bases.

This year has seen him set the Texas State career records for extra-base hits (84), doubles (53) and triples (12). Shuffield has also been named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week a team record four times in 2022.
