The bottom of the sixth saw UT take the lead with a six-run frame.
Â
With one out in the seventh,
Jackson Cotton doubled off the right field wall. It was the first of three consecutive doubles with the other two coming off the bats of Galloway and Salas to plate two runs. A passed ball allowed Salas to move up to third and he would later score on a groundout to cut the deficit to 9-8.
Â
An insurance run was added in the eighth by UT when Ethan Mendoza led off the inning with a home run.
