SAN MARCOS, Texas – An unexpected eight-game homestand continues this weekend for the Texas State baseball team (3-1) when it hosts Ohio State (3-1) this weekend at Bobcat Ballpark. Prior to facing the Buckeyes, the Bobcats host Wichita State on Thursday at 4 p.m. that was originally scheduled to take place Wednesday up in Arlington at Globe Life Field.

The series with the Buckeyes begins with a 3 p.m. contest on Friday. Saturday's first pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and the series finale on Sunday will begin at 12 p.m.

Fans can catch Friday's and Sunday's games on ESPN+ with
Brant Freeman and Ty Harrington on the call. Both of those games will also be broadcast on KTSW 89.9 FM. Live stats will also be available for all three contests.

Four Bobcats hit .400 or better after the opening weekend led by
Dalton Shuffield at .462. The senior shortstop also leads the team with seven runs and two home runs.
Wesley Faison enters the game batting .438 with a team-high seven hits and two doubles. Both
Cameron Gibbons and
Isaiah Ortega-Jones coming with a .400 average and four RBI. Swiping a team best two bases is
Jose Gonzalez and Ortega-Jones.

Zeke Wood. He struck out 12 and allowed one hit in six innings of work on opening day.
Levi Wells gets the ball on Saturday after allowing a run in six innings in his first start.
Tony Robie gets the ball for the finale. The right-hander comes in with a 1-0 record, 3.60 ERA and four strikeouts over five innings.

ABOUT OHIO STATE
Ohio State won its first three games at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida with two victories over Indiana State and one over future Sun Belt Conference member Marshall. The Buckeyes loss came on Monday to BYU.

Marcus Ernst leads the team with a .438 average, seven hits and two triples. Trey Lipsey is also batting over .400 at .417 and is second on the team with five RBI. Hitting two home runs and hitting over .300 is Zach Dezenzo (.333) and Drew Reckart (.357).

Starting on Friday will be Isaiah Coupet. The left-hander is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and struck out 11. Nate Habertheir gets the ball Saturday and enters with a 3.86 ERA and a strikeout in 4.2 innings. Sunday's starter is to be announced.

SERIES VS. BUCKEYES
The all-time series between the two teams is tied 2-2. Wednesday is the first meeting since 2015 when the Bobcats played a three-game series on the road. WSU won the first two games before the Bobcats claimed the finale 7-5. Only other meeting was on Feb. 19, 2012 in San Marcos with Texas State winning 7-4.
