SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time since 2019, I-35 rivals Texas State and UTSA will meet on the hardwood when the teams face off Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center on the campus of UTSA. Both teams head into the game with 2-1 records on the season.
The game will be broadcast on CUSA.TV and fans can also catch the action on the Varsity Sports Network with Clint Shields on the call.

The Bobcats are coming off a four-point road victory at Rhode Island on Saturday that saw
Mason Harrell score a game-high 26 points. His performance helped him be named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week. The fifth-year senior is averaging 18.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
Only other TXST player with a double-digit average is
Brandon Davis at 10.7. He has netted 15 points in back-to-back games and shares the team lead of six steals with
Davion Sykes. Pacing the squad with 5.0 rpg is
Tyrel Morgan while
Brandon Love comes in having rejected two shots in each game this season.
About UTSA
The Roadrunners are coming off a 66-59 win on Monday at home over St. Mary's (TX). Their other win was also at home against Trinity while they dropped a road game at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Friday.
Jacob Germany paces UTSA with 12.7 ppg while shooting 58.3% from the field and has four blocks. John Buggs III comes in putting up 9.0 ppg with seven made three-pointers while Josh Farmer is grabbing a team best 8.0 rpg.

UTSA leads the all-time series 36-25 and won the last meeting 77-71 that took place in San Marcos on Dec. 7, 2019. The last time the teams met in the Alamo City was Dec. 1, 2018. That day saw TXST win 69-68 as Nijal Pearson hit a three-pointer with 13 seconds to tie the game and Jaylen Shead knocked won a free throw with 0.9 showing on the clock to clinch the victory. Harrell is the only player in Texas State history to have recorded 1,000 points and 300 assists. The fifth-year senior has scored 1,105 points and dished out 309 assists. He currently ranks 17th in program history for points and needs five more to surpass Dameon Sansom for 16th place and six to move ahead of Boonie Wilkening for 15th.
