States Up Podcast: Bailey Peschel

Senior had her season cut short but she still remains a leader

SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the newest States Up podcast, Texas State soccer's Bailey Peschel reflects on a senior season lost to injury but also what has made this year a successful one so far for the Bobcats.

From Cypress, Texas, Peschel is a team captain for a program that has bounced back under first-year head coach Steve Holeman. She has played in 54 career matches, scoring six goals and tallying four assists, but after the team played one of the top teams in the nation in TCU, she injured her knee at a practice. The injury cut short her senior season, but she has remained a big part of the team as a leader and playing a different role than she has ever experienced.

In the podcast, Peschel shines light on how she got injured earlier in the season, what it has been like to watch her teammates from the sidelines amidst a successful season so far, how she got involved with the game of soccer, and if she plans to attempt a comeback and play another year of college soccer.

The podcast can be heard on SpotifyApple, Amazon Music, and Google.
