SAN MARCOS, Texas – The United States Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has selected the Texas State women's track and field team and six Bobcat student-athletes All-Academic team and athletes.
Texas State's women's track and field team was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the third straight season fourth-time overall since 2015, after maintaining a cumulative team GPA above 3.00. The Bobcats had a 3.16 team GPA in 2020-21.
Kattiana Ealy-Pulido and
Katherine Stuckly claimed USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the second straight year. In addition,
Brandon Busby and
Ben Collerton received All-Academic accolades for the second time in their careers.
Ariana Ealy-Pulido and
Pedro Osorio Lopez also received 2021 All-Academic awards.
Kattiana Ealy-Pulido is a mass communications major and 2021 NCAA West Preliminary qualifier after winning the 100-meter hurdles and finishing as the 400-meter hurdles runner-up at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
Stuckly is an industrial engineering major who earned NCAA Indoor All-America honors and won a Sun Belt Conference indoor high jump championship.
Ariana Ealy-Pulido is a mass communications major and NCAA West Preliminary qualifier after a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships.
Busby and Collerton received USTFCCCA All-Academic awards in 2019 and 2021 after qualifying for the NCAA West Preliminary meet. Busby is a computer information systems major who was the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Field Performer of the Year, won Sun Belt indoor shot put and weight throw championships, and set a school record in the hammer during the outdoor season.
Collerton is a biology major who earned All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team honors after finishing second in the heptathlon and decathlon at the Sun Belt Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
Osorio Lopez is a computer science major. He was an NCAA West Preliminary qualifier and Sun Belt Conference Indoor and Outdoor champion in the men's 800 meters and 4x400-meter relay.
The All-Academic Athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better and completed at least two semesters. In addition, they had to have finished in the top 96 performers in the national indoor TFRRS performance lists or compete in the NCAA West Preliminary Regional or NCAA Outdoor Championships.
