SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team (11-15, 2-4 Sun Belt) hosts Sun Belt Conference rival UT Arlington (10-14, 1-2 Sun Belt) this weekend at Bobcat Ballpark. Games on Thursday and Friday will begin at 6 p.m. and Saturday's finale has first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.

Friday's and Saturday's games will be streamed on ESPN+ with
Brant Freeman and Ty Harrington on the call. Thursday game can be heard on KTSW 89.9 FM and all three contests will have live stats available.

ABOUT UT ARLINGTON
UT Arlington is coming off a 5-3 loss at home to TCU on Tuesday. Last weekend saw the Mavericks split a four-game series at Houston and they opened Sun Belt play by dropping two of three at home to South Alabama.

Boone Montgomery is the lone regular batting over. 300 with a .325 average. He also leads the team with 26 hits, seven doubles, .563 SLG% and .432 OB%. His four home runs are tied for the team lead with Connor Aube and Dylan Paul.

Aube enters the weekend having hit two of the team's six triples. He has also scored 14 times, driven in 12 runs and stolen four bases. Paul paces the Mavs with 19 RBI and has scored 13 runs.

UTA will run out a weekend rotation of Carlos Tavera (0-3, 3.86 ERA, 42 K), Kody Bullard (3-2, 2.87 ERA, 33 K) and David Moffat (2-1, 2.35 ERA, 20 K).

SERIES VS. THE MAVERICKS
Texas State leads the all-time series 70-46. The teams last met to close out the 2019 regular season. The Mavs won the series opener but the Bobcats swept a doubleheader on May 17 to clinch the program's first-ever Sun Belt regular season championship.

When hosting UTA, TXST is 34-17 all-time and have won the last 13 series contested in San Marcos. Last time the Bobcats lost a home series to the Mavs was Apr. 9-10, 1994 when the visitors swept the three-game series.
