SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball all-time leading scorer Nijal Pearson has agreed to terms with Chorale Roanne located in Roanne, France, a member of the Pro A basketball league. Pro A is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France.  
 
Pearson will join a two-time French National Championship program that claimed the title in 1959 and 2007. They were also the Pro B champions in 2018-19 before being promoted back to the Pro A after a five-year absence.
 
"This is truly a blessing from God," said Pearson. "I am excited to start my professional basketball career and continue to grow as a person and a basketball player."

Pearson is one of the most iconic men's basketball players to where the maroon and gold after becoming the program's first All-American in 41 years after being honored to the 2019-20 Lou Henson All-America Team. The Beaumont, Texas native tallied 601 total points in the 2019-20 season, becoming the first player in program history to record three consecutive 500-point seasons and the fifth Bobcat to join the 600-point club. His point total was No. 45 among active Division I athletes and rank No. 7 in the program's single-season record book. 
 
Pearson is the program's all-time leading scorer with 2, 122 points and was selected as the 2020 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year after pacing the league with 19.4 points per game (ppg.) his senior year. In his four-year tenure, Pearson was a part of three 20-plus win seasons, a feat that has not been done since 1956-1960, including the NAIA National Champions in 1959-60. Pearson concluded his collegiate basketball career with the Bobcats by ranking in the top 10 of the school's record book in games played and started (133, No. 1), total minutes (4,437, No. 1), minutes per game (33.4, No. 6), scoring average (16.0 ppg, No. 10), rebounds (739, No. 9), assists (232, No. 6), and steals (177, No. 3).
