Jessamy Signs with Men’s Basketball

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State men's basketball head coach Terrence Johnson announced the signing of Ronald Jessamy to the program for the 2026-27 season on Friday.

"Ronald brings a versatile and dynamic style of play to our frontcourt. He has the ability to score at all three levels while also impacting winning on the defensive end," said Johnson. "His ball skills and shot-making ability, combined with his length and athleticism, give us the versatility we need to compete in the new Pac-12. We're looking forward to having him in our program."

Jessamy arrives to San Marcos after playing the 2025-26 campaign at CSU Bakersfield. The 6-foot, 8-inch forward played in all 31 games with 23 starts while finishing second on the team at 13.5 points per game and 38 steals.

He led the squad with a 52.3 field goal percentage and 6.6 rebounds per game and 56 blocks. In just his third game with the Roadrunners, Jessamy blocked six shots in a victory against Western Illinois to tie the program's single-game record.

He recorded a career-high 40 points on 14-of-21 shooting and made 12-of-14 free throws while also grabbing nine rebounds. The big man also posted six double-doubles and had eight games with at least 10 boards.

Jessamy played the 2024-25 season, his sophomore year, at Tennessee State where he averaged 8.9 ppg and 5.8 rpg. He knocked down 59.2% of his shots and totaled 35 blocks. The forward recorded three double-doubles during the year and had 11 double-digit scoring performances.

His collegiate career began at Mount St. Mary's in 2023-24, where he appeared in 29 games off the bench. Jessamy averaged 5.0 ppg and 2.8 rpg while making 58.4% of his shot attempts. Five times he scored in double-figures with a season-high 11 points recorded three times.
