SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State's DJ Hall was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Gulf District Second Team. He is the first Bobcat in four years to earn the honor and the eighth all-time in program history.
Hall finished the 2025-26 season leading the team in scoring (15.6) and rebounding (7.7). He made 54.2% of his shots, the second highest mark in the Sun Belt Conference. Nine times he recorded a double-double and in eight games scored at least 20 points. The freshman also totaled 73 assists, 44 steals and 12 blocks.
The Plano, Texas native's 500 points and 245 rebounds are the most ever by a Texas State freshman. His point mark is only the 23rd time a Bobcat had ever reached 500 points in a season. The rebound total is the highest by a Texas State player since the 2010-11 season.
Hall helped lead the Bobcats to a second-place finish in the team's final season as a member of the Sun Belt. He was chosen as the league's Freshman of the Year and to the all-conference second team.
