Lincoln, Neb. – The Texas State track and field teams combined for 20 of the top 10 marks in the Sun Belt Conference at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on January 7 and 8 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
In their final tune-up before the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, the Bobcats had the league's top 10 marks in 10 men's and 10 women's events at the meet.
Texas State had the Sun Belt's second-best marks in both of the men's long and triple jumps.
Noah Herring had a second-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 15.42 meters (50-7.25), and
Ronnie Briscoe, Jr. placed third in the long jump with a mark of 7.52 meters (24-8.25).
Katherine Stuckly has the Sun Belt's fifth-best height in the high jump after clearing 1.70 meters (5-7.00).
Brandon Busby had a top 10 mark in the men's weight throw with a throw of 18.78 meters (61-07.50).
Sprinter Sadie Giles posted the league's top time in both of the 60 and 200 meters, with a time of 7.46 seconds in the 60-meter prelims and 24.28 in the 200-meter dash. She finished one-hundredth of a second ahead of teammate
Alexa Valenzuela, who has the second-fastest time in the Sun Belt.
Myles Anders has the Sun Belt's third-fastest time in the men's 60 meters with 6.82 seconds.
Jaylen Allen posted one of the league's top 10 times in the men's 200 meters with 21.65 seconds.
Pedro Osorio Lopez also had a second-place finish in the 800 meters with the league's second-fastest time with 1:53.77.
Johen Deleon had one of the top five times in the mile with 4:13.49.
Texas State had the Sun Belt's top three times in the women's 60-meter hurdles at the FSHI.
Kattiana Ealy-Pulido had the league's fastest time of 8.43 seconds.
Paige Kimble had the second-fastest with 8.48 seconds, and
Javlyn Cameron had the third-fastest time with 8.60 seconds.
Texas State's men's 4x400-meter relay team posted one of the league's top five times when
Jaylen Allen,
Taahir Kelly,
Christian Jackson, and
Pedro Osorio Lopez combined to finish the race in 3:17.50. The women's 4x400-meter relay also posted a top 10 time of 3:52.51 but ran a faster time in the Red Raider Invitational earlier this season.
Julian Olivas scored 5,500 points in the men's heptathlon to place second behind Iowa's Will Daniels at the meet. His score is the top point total scored in the Sun Belt this season and one of the top 25 totals among NCAA Division I competitors. He also had the Sun Belt's top mark in the pole vault after clearing 5.11 meters (16-9.25) in the heptathlon.
The Sun Belt Conference Championships will be held on Feb. 24-25 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
