SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State will have its second road game in three days when they go head-to-head with SEC member Mississippi State at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30 at the Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Miss. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
The Bobcats (2-0) picked up their first road win of the 2020-21 season after topping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 75-63. The maroon and gold are averaging 86.5 points per game behind a 53.8 field goal percentage. Defensively, they rank No. 2 in the Sun Belt Conference with a 61.0 scoring defense and 34.9 field goal percentage defense. TXST has led the league in scoring defense the last four seasons and in six of the last seven years.

Mason Harrell paces the team with 16.5 points per game and is shooting 56.5 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from behind-the-arc. Harrell also leads the team with seven assists and three steals. Junior guard

Alonzo Sule both chime in 11.0 points per game. Asberry is shooting 58.3 percent from the field with six of his seven made field goals coming from 3-point territory (6-of-8). Three more Bobcats are chipping roughly 8.0 points per game, including senior

SCOUTING MISSISSIPPI STATE
The Bulldogs (0-2) are searching for their first win this season in their home opener after falling to Clemson (53-42) and Liberty (84-73) in the Space Coast Challenge on Nov. 25-26 at the Titan Field House in Melbourne, Fla. As a unit, Mississippi State averages 57.5 points per game shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 34.8 percent from 3-point range.
Sophomore forward Tolu Smith and sophomore guard D.J. Stewart Jr. lead the team in scoring with 16 points per game each. T. Smith, a transfer from Western Kentucky, is shooting 52.6 percent from the floor (10-of-19) and leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game, has four total blocks, and is 12-of-20 (60.0 percent) from the charity stripe. Stewart Jr. matches a team-high six assists with freshman guard Deivon Smith and has two steals this season.

CHALK TALK
Beginning with the game against Incarnate Word on Dec. 5, the men's basketball staff will be hosting Chalk Talk 40 minutes prior to tip-off. Chalk Talk will be a presentation by one of the coaching staff members, followed by a meet and greet. Light refreshments will be provided.
