                     SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team looks to win its third straight match when the Bobcats travel to San Antonio for an I-35 Maroon-Orange Rivalry match against UTSA on Wednesday afternoon. The match will be played at the UTSA Tennis Center beginning at 3 p.m. 
The Bobcats enter Wednesday's match with a 7-9 record after winning a pair of neutral site Sun Belt Conference matches in Lafayette, Louisiana last Friday and Saturday. The Bobcats began the weekend with a 4-3 victory over UL Monroe before beating Arkansas State 4-0. 
A LOOK AT  UTSAUTSA enters Wednesday's match with a 9-9 record, including a 3-2 mark in home matches, after winning a 4=2 decision against Nicholls State in Hattiesburg, Mississippi last Saturday. The Roadrunners also beat Lamar 4-3 in their last home match on Wednesday, March 23. 
Senior Jacobea Junger leads the Roadrunners with a 10-5 overall singles record, and is 9-5 in No. 2 matches this season. Miriam Rosell Canudas has a 9-5 mark in No. 1 singles matches, while Lina Hallgren also owns a 9-5 record and Nichole Karaklis is 9-8 mark.                                                           
In doubles play, Canudas and Junger lead the Roadrunners with a 12-3 record as the No. 1 doubles team after winning their last seven decisions. Hallgren has teamed with Charlene Tiwari for a 7-7 doubles record. 
BOBCAT BITESThis will be the third time that that Bobcats have played in San Antonio this season, splitting the first two trips with a 6-1 victory at Incarnate Word and a 5-2 loss against Air Force at the UTSA Tennis Center. 
Eva Dench helped clinch the team doubles point and won her second No. 1 match of the season to seal Texas State's 4-3 victory over UL Monroe. She teamed with 
Pippa Carr for a 6-2 win in doubles and came back to best Martina Husarova in three sets after dropping a 10-8 tiebreaker in the first set. Dench responded by winning the second set, 6-0, and came back to win the third set, 6-3. 
It was the second straight match that Dench and Carr clinched a doubles point. They also secured the point against Central Arkansas last Wednesday when they won a 7-3 tiebreaker in the No. 2 match for Texas State's lone point in the match. Those two wins give them a 4-1 record this spring, and they were winning their doubles match against Arkansas State when it was called because Texas State had won the other two matches to earn the doubles point. 
Carr's single match against the Red Wolves was called with her leading in the third set. She goes to UTSA having won two of her last three matches against UTEP and ULM. 
Ammaarah Tim compiled a combined 5-1 record in singles and doubles matches, including a 4-0 mark against Sun Belt Conference teams, last week. Tim posted her first career singles and doubles victories against Sun Belt teams when she won her singles matches and teamed with 
Katy Collins to win their doubles matches against ULM and Arkansas State. They also won a doubles match against Central Arkansas. 
Tim and Collins enter Wednesday's match at UTSA having won five of their last six doubles matches. Tim also has won three of her last four singles matches with victories against ULM, Arkansas State and UTEP. 
Ana Perez also won a match against Arkansas State to improve to 5-2 in her last seven matches in the No. 5 position. 
UP NEXTFollowing Wednesday's match at UTSA, the Bobcats return to San Marcos for three straight home matches before traveling to the Sun Belt Conference tournament. The Bobcats will host UL Lafayette on April 8 at 1:30 p.m., UT Arlington on April 10 at 10 a.m. and UT Rio Grande Valley on April 16 at 10 a.m. The Bobcats travel to New Orleans for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on April 20-24.
