SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's tennis seniors Ireland Simme and Emily Niers were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, May 12.

Simme earned the honor following a standout senior campaign both on the court and in the classroom. The Austin native compiled a 15-2 overall singles record while competing primarily across the No. 1 through No. 4 positions in the lineup.

She also recorded a 13-match singles winning streak during the season and earned Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors in week three.

In doubles play, Simme teamed with Olivia Collins to post a 9-5 record at the No. 1 position, including recognition as Sun Belt Conference Doubles Team of the Week during the season.

Simme will graduate with a 3.92 cumulative GPA while majoring in health sciences.

Niers also earned CSC Academic All-District recognition after another strong year for the Bobcats.

The senior posted an 8-10 singles record while competing on courts one and two throughout the season. She also contributed in doubles competition, competing across all three doubles courts during the year.

Niers will graduate with a 3.96 cumulative GPA while majoring in biology.

The contributions from Simme and Niers helped lead Texas State to a 13-7 overall record and an undefeated 7-0 mark at home during the regular season.

The 2026 Academic All-District Women's Tennis Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes tennis honorees across NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA competition. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists advance to the national ballot voted on by CSC members.

First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late May.
