Texas State Concludes Season with Loss in SBC Quarterfinals

ROME, Ga.— Texas State women's tennis saw its season come to a close Friday morning, falling 4-0 to No. 4 seed Arkansas State in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

Texas State concludes the season with a 14-8 overall record, highlighted by an undefeated home slate and a trip to the Sun Belt Conference Championship quarterfinals.

Doubles
The Red Wolves secured the early advantage by claiming the doubles point, winning on courts one and two. 

On court one, Emily Niers and Ireland Simme dropped a 6-2 decision, while Stoney Cooks and Charlotte Roesch fell 6-1 on court two. 

The third doubles match was left unfinished at 3-3.

Singles
In singles play, Arkansas State closed out the match with three straight-set victories to clinch the team result. 

Charlotte Roesch fell 7-5, 6-1 on court four, followed by a 6-1, 6-4 loss from Stoney Cooks on court five. 

The deciding point came on court six, where Anastas Radovanovic dropped a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 decision.

Three additional singles matches went unfinished at the time of the clinch, with Niers, Simme and Tadiwa Mauchi all competing in tightly contested matches.
