PULLMAN, Wash. – The Texas State men's basketball team concludes its road slate of non-conference games with a trip to the Pacific Northwest. Friday at 8 p.m. CT, the Bobcats take on Washington State of the Pac-12 Conference in Beasley Coliseum.
The contest will be broadcast on Pac-12 Washington, a regional network of the Pac-12 Network, and can be found on Time Warner Cable throughout the Lone Star State on channel 378. Announcing the game will be Guy Haberman and Kevin O'Neil.
After an 18-point victory Wednesday night at Prairie View A&M, Texas State (5-2) is going for its first consecutive road wins since winning three straight from Jan. 19-26, 2013. The Cougars enter the game 6-2 overall and have played all but one game at home. Their lone road contest took place just across the border, a 78-74 loss to Idaho.
Following his second double-double of the season,
Emani Gant increased his point and rebounding averages to 13.6 and 8.2, respectively.
Kavin Gilder-Tilbury enters scoring 12.7 ppg, grabbing 5.4 rpg and dishing out 2.4 apg.
Ethan Montalvo increased his scoring average to 9.6 points per contest after a season-high performance against the Panthers. The Omaha, Nebraska native continues to lead the Sun Belt Conference with 2.6 steals per game.
Leading the team in rebounding at 6.8 per contest is
Anthony Roberson and
Ojai Black sports a team best 2.7 apg.
The Bobcats come into the game third in the nation in scoring defense at 56.6 ppg. They will be tested by a WSU team that is 14 in field goal percentage (50.2) and averaging 78.4 points per contest.
A trio of Cougars come in putting up over 10 points per contest. Pacing the pack is Josh Hawkinson at 16.4 ppg and is grabbing a team-high 10.1 rpg. Ike Iroegbu and Que Johnson are contributing 12.8 and 11.0 ppg, respectively.
Valentine Izundu is averaging just 15.4 minutes per game but is 16th in the country with 27 blocks.
