SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team returns to the hardwood for the first time in eight days Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats (3-2) host Texas-Rio Grande Valley (3-6) at 2 p.m. in Strahan Coliseum.

Leading the Bobcats in scoring at 13.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game is Emani Gant. He has played in three games this season, missing the season opener and the last contest because of injury. Kavin Gilder-Tilbury contributes 11.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Also adding double-digit points per contest is Cameron Naylor at 10.0.

Junior forward Anthony Roberson ranks ninth in the Sun Belt Conference with 6.7 rpg and his 3.3 offensive rebounds per contest is the second most in the league. He has added 6.8 ppg with four assists and three steals.

Leading the team with a 51.3 field goal percentage, the 10th best in the SBC, is Ojai Black. His 2.6 assists per contest leads Texas State and he is second with six steals.

Ethan Montalvo has put together great defensive efforts the past two games. After trying the single-game program mark with eight steals against I-35 rival UTSA, the senior guard followed with four swipes against the Islanders. The Omaha, Nebraska native is averaging 2.6 steals per contest that that ranks 15th in the country.

Four players are averaging double-figures in points for UTRGV led by Shaquille Hines' 15.9 ppg. The second team All-WAC preseason pick also leads the team with a 45.8 shooting percentage and 80.6 free throw percentage.
