San Marcos, Texas – Texas State goes back on the road this weekend for another three-game Southland Conference set when the team heads to Thibodaux, La., to play Nicholls at Ray E. Didier Field. The Bobcats and Colonels will play Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Texas State (23-16) is coming off a sweep of Central Arkansas at Bobcat Ballpark last weekend that moved the team's record in Southland Conference play back above .500. The team now sits in a tie for fourth place in the league with an 11-10 record.
Nicholls (20-20) is in the midst of an eight-game homestand in which the team is 2-2 so far. The Colonels lost two of three games last weekend against Lamar and defeated South Alabama on Tuesday. Nicholls is 8-13 in the conference this season and tied for 10th place.
Texas State will try to improve its 7-12 record on the road this season against a team that head coach Ty Harrington has had much success against during his career with a 32-10 record against the Colonels since taking over in 2000. The Bobcats defeated Nicholls five times in six games last season, including back-to-back games in the SLC Tournament to end the Colonels' season.
