San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State baseball team will have another opportunity to pick up a win against a ranked opponent when the Bobcats travel to Austin on Tuesday for a game against No. 4 Texas at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
Texas State (25-14) comes into Tuesday's game have won its last two games, both against Northwestern State, as the Bobcats won a three-game series against the Demons to remain atop the Southland Conference. Texas (30-10) enters the game winners of four of its last five after losing on Sunday to Kansas in the series finale with the Jayhawks.
The Bobcats will look to snap an 11-game losing streak against Texas on Tuesday. The last Texas State victory against Texas came during the 2005 season when the Bobcats went to Austin and won 2-1 in late April.
Starting on the mound for the Bobcats will be sophomore Travis Ballew. He already has a win against a ranked team under his belt this season after he defeated No. 16 Baylor in Waco in his first career start. Ballew will carry a 1-1 record and 4.78 ERA into his fourth start of the season.
Getting the ball for Texas will be junior left-handed pitcher Sam Stafford. A regular in the Longhorns' rotation, Stafford will make his 11th start of the season. He enters the game with a 5-1 record and 1.85 ERA.

Win 400
Texas State head coach Ty Harrington won his 400th career game earlier this season when the Bobcats defeated Northwestern State, 16-2, on April 23.
Versus Texas
The Bobcats have an 11-game losing streak against the Longhorns heading into Tuesday's game. The last Texas State win against Texas was on April 27, 2005 when the Bobcats defeated UT, 2-1, in Austin.
Big Game
Texas State second baseman Tyler Sibley had a career game in the team's 16-2 win against Northwestern State (4/23). Sibley finished the game 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored. The pair of home runs tied a career high, while the RBIs and runs scored were both career bests.
