Scouting Texas State
Texas State (6-9, 1-0 SLC) is on a three-game win streak with its most recent victory coming in an 84-71 victory over Northwestern State on Jan. 8. Cameron Johnson led all scorers in the contest with 19 points. The Bobcats are led by team captains Johnson and Tony Bishop; Texas State's top scorers and rebounders. Texas State has scored 72+ points in each of its last six games, going 4-2. The Bobcats are shooting 45 percent from the field and averaging 78.8 points per game.
Scouting McNeese State
McNeese State (10-5, 2-0 SLC) is on a two-game win streak after gaining league victories over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Lamar. The Cowboys recently posted a 78-76 thriller win over the Cardinals on the road. McNeese State is led by Patrick Richard, who is averaging 14.9 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game. Preston David is leading the Cowboys on defense with 20 blocks so far this season. McNeese State is currently the only SLC team with two conference wins.

Feb. 6, 2010 - San Marcos, Texas. - Cameron Johnson scored 29 points and three other Bobcats came off the bench to score in double figures as the Texas State men's basketball team won a 95-88 decision over McNeese State at Strahan Coliseum.
Although the Cowboys attempted more shots than the Bobcats, Texas State managed to make it to the free throw line connecting on 35 of 47 attempts. McNeese State was 13-18 from the charity stripe. Texas State was down at the half, 43-45, but 52 points in the second half propelled the Bobcats to the victory over the Cowboys at home.
