San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State women's soccer program opens its 2010 season this Sunday, when they travel to Lubbock, Texas to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at John Walker Soccer Complex.

Texas State is back from its second consecutive championship season after finishing 14-6-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the Southland Conference. The team returns 15 letterwinners and eight starters, including 2009 SLC Player of the Year Britney Curry.
Head coach Kat Conner remains at the helm of the program for her 12th-straight year. Conner began the program in 1999 and has compiled a 114-96-16 overall record.

Scouting Texas Tech
Texas Tech returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters, including junior playmakers Taylor Lytle and Casey McCall, from the 2009 season.
Last year, the team posted an 8-8-4 overall record with a 3-4-3 seventh-place mark in Big 12 action.
Prior to Sunday's match with Texas State, the Red Raiders will host TCU.
Texas Tech is led by soccer head coach Tom Stone in his fourth season. At Tech, Stone has compiled a 23-26-7 overall record.
Series History
Texas State and Texas Tech will meet for just the fourth time on the soccer field this weekend. Dating back to Sept. 6, 2002, the short series history began with a 1-0 decision in favor of Texas State, but proved to be the only victory for the team. The Red Raiders won the next three contests, including a 3-0 loss in 2007.
