SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State cross country returns to action Saturday for its second meet of the 2026 season at the 21st Annual UIW Invitational at Windcrest Golf Club in San Antonio.

The men's 8K will begin at 8 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 8:40 a.m.

The Bobcats will compete alongside Dallas Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M International, Texas Lutheran, Texas Southmost College, Trinity, UIW, UTSA and UTRGV.

Texas State opened the 2026 season last Tuesday at the UIW Twilight, where the women's team claimed first place in the 4K with an average time of 14:33. The men's team finished second in the 6K with an average time of 19:06.

Three Bobcats placed inside the top 10 on the women's side, led by Alexia Macias, who won the 4K with a time of 14:06.92.

Two newcomers also recorded top-10 finishes. Freshman Susana Rawls placed fourth in 14:28.45, while sophomore transfer Jocelyn Karry finished seventh in 14:38.11.

Freshman Jaxon Asbill led the way for the men's team, winning the 6K in 18:15.69. Senior Jack Deelman was the second Bobcat to cross the finish line, placing ninth in 18:58.12.

Texas State competed at the UIW Invitational last season, with the men's team finishing third and the women's team placing fourth. The Bobcats will look to improve on those finishes when they return to the course Saturday morning.
