SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis will open its fall season this weekend at the Cowgirl Invite, hosted by McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The Bobcats will compete alongside McNeese, Tarleton State and UL-Lafayette in the tournament.

Action begins at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, with doubles play against Tarleton State, followed by a 10 a.m. matchup against UL-Lafayette. Texas State will close out the opening day with singles play against McNeese at 11 a.m.

The Bobcats will return to action Saturday with doubles against McNeese at 9 a.m., followed by singles play against UL-Lafayette at 10 a.m.

Texas State will conclude the Cowgirl Invite Sunday with singles play against Tarleton State at 9 a.m.

The Bobcats return five players from last season, including Julia Richardet, Tadiwa Mauchi, Charlotte Roesch, Olivia Collins and Zoe Du Pasquier Jensen.

Two transfers will make their Texas State debuts this season. Juliette Jalai joins the Bobcats from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, while Kinley VanPelt arrives from Kansas.

Head coach Kendall Brooks enters her fifth season at Texas State after leading the Bobcats to three consecutive winning seasons.
