Women’s Tennis Set for Pac-12 Qualifier

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's tennis will compete in the Fall Pac-12 Qualifier Friday through Sunday at the Stevens Center in Spokane, Washington, hosted by Gonzaga.

The tournament marks women's tennis first fall competition against Pac-12 opponents. Matches begin at 9 a.m. PT each day, with two singles players and one doubles team representing each school.

The women's singles and doubles champions will earn automatic qualifying spots in the ITA Conference Masters. The conference also received an additional women's singles spot through the ITA lottery, which will go to the singles runner-up.

Tadiwa Mauchi and Olivia Collins will represent Texas State in singles, while Charlotte Roesch and Kim Kuehbauer will compete in doubles.

Mauchi, the longest active member of the Bobcats' women's tennis team, enters the tournament with a 2-5 singles record this fall. At the ITA Texas Regional, she was the only Texas State player among six entrants to begin in the singles main draw. She competed in the main draw before dropping her final two matches.

Collins holds a 5-4 singles record this fall. At the ITA Texas Regional, she advanced from the qualifying draw to the main draw with consecutive victories over opponents from Abilene Christian and TCU.

Roesch and Kuehbauer have combined for a 5-2 doubles record this fall. The duo opened the season with a 3-0 record at the Cowgirl Invite before going 2-1 at the River State Shoot-Out. At the ITA Texas Regional, they fell to TCU's Sofiia Mykhailets and Cristina Ramos Sierra, 8-7 (4). The TCU pair went on to win the doubles main draw.

Doubles play begins Friday morning, with Roesch and Kuehbauer facing Utah State's Sabina Pintea and Terezia Mikva. The winner will advance to the doubles main draw, which begins Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.

Collins will open singles main-draw play Friday at 10 a.m. PT against San Diego State's Constanza Fernandez. Mauchi follows at 11 a.m. PT against Boise State's Tereza Polakova. Winners will advance to the next round, scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. PT.

Results will be available on the Texas State women's tennis schedule. Fans can also watch the matches through the official Gonzaga athletics website.
