Women’s Tennis Hosts States Up Slam, Sends Doubles Team to ITA Conference Masters

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis will wrap up its fall schedule this weekend with two events on the slate. The Bobcats will send a doubles team to the ITA Conference Masters in Rome, Georgia, while also hosting the States Up Slam at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.

ITA Conference Masters
The ITA Conference Masters features representatives from each NCAA automatic-qualifying Division I conference. Each conference designates one singles player and one doubles team from both the men's and women's sides to compete.

The tournament will also determine qualifiers for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The four singles semifinalists will earn NCAA Championship bids, while the doubles champion and finalist will secure spots in the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Charlotte Roesch and Kim Kuehbauer will represent Texas State and the Pac-12 at this weekend's ITA Conference Masters.

The duo earned its spot after advancing to the championship match of the Pac-12 Qualifier two weeks ago. Roesch and Kuehbauer defeated Utah State and Boise State to reach the final against San Diego State. Although the Bobcats fell in the championship match, they secured a spot in the Conference Masters after San Diego State had already earned an NCAA berth by winning the ITA Southwest Regional doubles title.

Roesch and Kuehbauer have posted a 7-3 record in doubles play this fall. The pair opened the season with a 3-0 mark at the Cowgirl Invite before going 2-1 at the River State Shoot-Out. At the ITA Texas Regional, they fell to TCU's Sofiia Mykhailets and Cristina Ramos Sierra, who went on to win the doubles championship. Most recently, the duo posted a 2-1 record at the Pac-12 Qualifier to earn its place in the Conference Masters.

The ITA Conference Masters begins Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia. Live streaming and live results will be available throughout the tournament.

States Up Slam
Texas State will also host the States Up Slam at the Bobcat Tennis Complex from Saturday through Sunday, with matches beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

Saturday's schedule will feature one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles, while Sunday's slate will consist of two rounds of doubles and one round of singles.

The tournament field will feature athletes from Tarleton, McNeese, UT Arlington, UT Rio Grande Valley, Stephen F. Austin, St. Mary's and Sam Houston, alongside the Bobcats.

Representing Texas State will be Avery Arant, Olivia Collins, Zoe Du Pasquier Jensen, Juliette Jalai, Tadiwa Mauchi, Julia Richardet and Kinley VanPelt.

Results from the States Up Slam will be posted on the Texas State women's tennis page Sunday afternoon following the conclusion of competition.

The States Up Slam will serve as the final fall competition for head coach Kendall Brooks and the Bobcats before the team turns its attention to the spring season.
