SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
  • Coming off the program's sixth NCAA Regional berth, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Tournament champion Bobcats look to continue their success in the new horizons of the Pac-12 Conference. The NCAA Regional appearance last season at Baylor was TXST's first regional appearance since 2011 and sixth in program history.
  • Texas State returns 14 newcomers that include 2025 First Team All-Conference recipients Helen Alormenu and Victoria Meza, who also earned spots on United Soccer Coaches (USC) Players to Watch list at their respective positions. The Players to Watch lists are compiled and selected by Division I All-America committee members to promote preseason top impact players. The Bobcats welcome 12 newcomers to the 2026 roster.
  • Texas State is 14-12-1 all-time in season openers and is 3-1-0 in the Steve Holeman era.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS
  • UTSA is coming off an American Conference championship in 2025 after a record of 10-6-6 led to an undefeated tournament run as the fifth-seeded Roadrunners took down No. 4 UAB, top-seeded Memphis, and No. 6 Rice, earning an NCAA Tournament berth. The road led to Lubbock where the Red Raiders topped UTSA by a one-score difference, 2-1 final.
  • UTSA landed 64th in RPI in 2025, just five points behind Texas State's 59 RPI to end the year. Both squads punched tickets to NCAA regionals after being crowned conference tournament champions in their respective leagues.
  • The Roadrunners return goalkeeper Jasmine Kessler, who landed a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Players to Watch list for goalkeepers. Kessler produced 89 saves in 2025 with a 0.93 goals against average across 22 games and 1,929 minutes. The 'runners also return Kameron Kloza, who earned a selection to the USC Players to Watch list for defenders. Kloza appeared in all 22 matches a year ago and started 17 while defending the back line for the reigning conference champs, and notched a goal, two assists, four points and 21 shots - eight of which on target.

ALL-TIME SERIES
  • Texas State leads the all-time series 6-4-2, while the most recent meeting saw the Bobcats prevail by a 1-0 score on Aug. 22, 2024 at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. The last visit Texas State made to San Antonio went the way of the Roadrunners, 1-0 on Aug. 27, 2023. The I-35 rivals are 2-2-2 in all-time meetings in San Antonio.
