SAN MARCOS, Texas – The five-game homestand comes to a conclusion on Tuesday when Texas State (27-21) hosts Baylor (25-22) on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. from Irvine-Rasmussen Ballpark.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats look to end a four-game skid that included being swept by South Alabama this past weekend. It is the second longest such streak this season behind a five-game stretch from Mar. 10-17. TXST is 20-10 at home this season with a 6-2 record in midweek games.
Pacing the team at the plate is
Rashawn Galloway with a .340 average, 69 hits, 22 doubles and three triples. The senior has also scored 43 runs, driven in 39 and hit nine home runs.
Both
Dawson Park (.301, 52 RBI) and
Jaquae Stewart (48 RBI) have hit a team-high 13 home runs each. Four of the long balls from Stewart have been grand slams, which is the most ever by a Bobcat in a season. Also with double-digit round trippers are
Jackson Cotton (43 R, 30 RBI) and
Manny Salas (.314, 42 R, 33 RBI).
Slated to make his fourth consecutive midweek start is
Titan Targac. The lefty is 1-4 with a 6.66 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 25.2 innings spanning 14 appearances.
ABOUT BAYLOR
The Bears are coming off a series win at home this past weekend over Texas Tech. When playing away from home, they are 7-14 overall and 6-9 in true road games. Baylor is 6-4 in midweek games and 1-2 in road contests.
Leading the way with a .367 batting average, 23 stolen bases and 14 doubles is Travis Sanders. Also with double-digit stolen bases are Brady Janusek (10 HR, 40 RBI) and Pearson Riebock (34 R) with 17 and 11, respectively. The biggest power threat is Tyce Armstrong, who has smacked 21 long balls while driving in 57 and hitting .330.
Getting the ball on Tuesday will be Cade Hansen. The right-hander is 0-3 with a 12.27 ERA and 17 strikeouts over 22.0 innings. He is allowing opponents to hit .406 with 41 hits allowed.
SERIES VS. BEARS
Baylor leads the all-time series 55-27 after winning the first meeting this season 14-4 back on Feb. 17 in Waco. When hosting the Bears, Texas State is 8-16 all-time. The last game in San Marcos was a 19-3 seven-inning contest that went in Baylor's favor on Mar. 18, 2015. Last time the Bobcats won at home was an 11-4 contest on Apr. 12, 2022.
