Texas State Qualifies 23 for NCAA West Regional Meet

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State track & field qualified 23 student-athletes for the 2026 NCAA Division I West First Round Championships, scheduled for May 27-30 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

The Bobcats will send eight women and 15 men to the regional meet, with several athletes qualifying in multiple events. The top 12 finishers in each event at the West First Round will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, set for June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.

Texas State's women's qualifiers include Paige Archer in the 200 meters, Victoria Amiadamen in the 400-meter hurdles, Sophia Haberer and Hannah Kemele in the shot put, Cassandra Rendon in the discus, Elisabet Runarsdottir and Lara Roberts in the hammer throw and Charlize Goody in the javelin.

On the men's side, Drew Donley qualified in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, while Ja'Shaun Lloyd earned bids in the 100 meters and 110-meter hurdles. Arveyon Davis and Joshua Taylor also qualified in the 110-meter hurdles, giving the Bobcats three regional entries in the event.

Mihajlo Katanic advanced in the 400-meter hurdles, while Texas State placed three athletes in the high jump with Aiden Hayes, Tshepang Dankuru and Easton Hammond all earning regional berths. Caden Ohara qualified in the pole vault, while Giovonni Walker and Isaiah Kayembe secured spots in the long jump.
Additionally, Easton Hammond earned a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Championships decathlon field, qualifying directly for the national meet in Eugene, Oregon.

In the throws, Adam Carter qualified in the shot put, Daniel Strooh advanced in the discus, Manfred Mannamaa earned a berth in the hammer throw and Connor Warzecha qualified in the javelin.

Texas State enters the regional championships following another successful outdoor campaign that included Sun Belt Conference team titles on both the men's and women's side. Throughout the season, the Bobcats produced multiple school records, conference champions and nationally ranked performances.

The Bobcats will continue final preparations before opening competition at the NCAA West First Round on May 27 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
