SAN MARCOS, Texas -- The Texas State cheer program, under the direction of Head Cheer Coach and Spirit Coordinator
Ryan Riley, has finalized its 2026-27 rosters, featuring a combined 72 student-athletes across the coed and all girl teams following a highly competitive tryout process.
The Bobcats are coming of a campaign that saw their first ever game day squad finish seventh at the 2026 UCA College National Cheerleading Championship, with the Boko Team also securing a third-place finish in their first appearance.
The coed team features 31 members, while the all-girl roster includes 41 student-athletes, an increase of four athletes from last season.
"Our staff is excited about the balance we have between veteran leadership and incoming talent across both teams," said Riley. "The level of competition during tryouts was extremely high, and we believe this group represents the continued growth and national reach of our program."
A total of 108 athletes participated in tryouts, including 90 female and 18 male athletes, highlighting the continued interest and competitiveness surrounding the program. Following tryouts, 10 student-athletes earned roster spots, joining 15 previous signees. Between both teams, TXST returns 47 student-athletes, providing valuable experience and leadership entering the year.

The program also continues to expand its recruiting footprint beyond its strong Texas presence, featuring athletes from Hawaii, Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Minnesota, Oklahoma and even Germany, giving the 2026-27 roster the largest out-of-state and international representation in program history.
