SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State softball returns home for the second half of the I-35 Rivalry this Tuesday night at 6 pm as the team hosts UTSA inside Bobcat Softball Stadium.
The game will be part of Bobcats Blackout Night in the ballpark, with fans encouraged to wear black and there will be black pom-poms and rally towels given away. Tickets are available at txst.com/tickets.

Texas State is coming off a 34-19 campaign which included a Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship and were named Preseason Favorites in the Sun Belt Conference Coaches Poll. Texas State returns 96.8% of its innings pitched and 75.5% of its at-bats from the 2025, championship winning season.

Ricci Woodard is in her 26th season at the helm of Texas State softball. In her tenure, Woodard has 14 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances and enters the weekend with 902 career wins.

Emma Strood. The pair boast two of the top ERAs in the Sun Belt, with Maddy Azua being a top-5 strikeout pitcher in the nation. Azua has a 1.91 ERA in 157.1 innings while Strood has a 2.64 in 55.2.

UTSA comes into the week with a 20-21 record on the year. Most recently, they are coming off a 1-2 weekend against South Florida in American Conference action.Â

The Roadrunners have four batters batting over .300 this season, led by Sabrina Wick at .358. She has 48 hits, 17 runs, and seven RBI this season. The top of the order is filled out by Brookelynn Meador (.357), Taryn Madlock (.355), and Makayla Madrid (.322).
