th career win in a 8-1 victory over UTSA on Tuesday night.
The Bobcats offense capitalized on Roadrunner errors to score its runs, while also recording six hits on the day. Maddy Azua recorded her 15
th win of the season on the night in the win, allowing just one run.
How It Happened:
Keely Williams got things started early, homering on the third pitch of the game. She sent the ball to deep right field for her second home run of the season. From there, the Bobcats were able to load the bases but didn't put any more runs away.
Maddy Azua started in the circle for Texas State, allowing just one hit in the first inning and striking out a batter.
The Bobcats were retired in order in the second while UTSA equalized on an RBI ground out.
Aiyana Coleman answered in the top of the third though, with a two-run home run for her ninth of the year to make it a 3-1 ball game. She scored
Keely Williams who was walked to get on base.
Texas State capitalized on Roadrunner errors in the top half of the 4
th inning, scoring three after two runners reached on errors. One run scored on
Sami Hood reaching on an error, and another two on
Karmyn Bass' double.
The Bobcats added two more runs in the 5
th inning on a sac-fly and a second on a throwing error by the Roadrunner second basemen. Despite stranding three runners, Texas State led 8-1 after 5 innings. Azua retired the side in order in the bottom half of the inning with two strikeouts.
Texas State didn't add any more runs in the top of the 6
th,
Analisa Soliz came in to pitch in the bottom half of the inning. She struck out the first batter she faced, forced the next into a pop up and struck out the third.
Neither side added any runs in the 7
th and Texas State held on to its 8-1 win.
After today's win, Texas State is now 22-15 on the season.

Texas State will head on the road for a three-game Sun Belt play series at South Alabama from April 2-4, with a 6 pm first pitch on April 2. The whole series will be streamed on ESPN+. Texas State will then return home on April 7 to host UTSA at 6 pm in Bobcat Softball Stadium.
