SAN MARCOS, Texas – Tuesday night will see a big matchup at Bobcat Ballpark when Texas State (12-3) hosts No. 2 ranked Texas (15-0). First pitch for the game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast on KTSW 89.9 FM. Live stats will be available for all four contests.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
This past weekend saw the Bobcats win three of four games over future Pac-12 Conference foe Washington State. It marked the fourth consecutive weekend the team has won that includes a sweep over Niagara and winning all three contests of the College Baseball Series in Cleburne, Texas. Texas State is off to the best start through 15 games since the 2022 team that also began the year 12-3.
Manny Salas leads TXST with a .392 average and tied for first with 14 runs scored. His four home runs are tied for the most on the team with
Jackson Cotton. Former Longhorn
Jaquae Stewart comes in batting .356 with two homers and nine RBI.
A big weekend at the plate for
Rashawn Galloway saw him increase his batting average to .328. He paces the squad with nine doubles while also scoring 14 runs and driving in 15. A team leading 18 RBI belongs to
Dawson Park, who has hit a homer in each of the last three games.
Slated to make his first collegiate start on Tuesday is
Titan Targac. The freshman left-hander is 1-2 with one save, an 8.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 9.0 innings in five relief appearances.
ABOUT TEXAS
Texas is one of two remaining undefeated teams in the country along with USC. This past weekend saw the Longhorns sweep a three-game series from USC Upstate. Tuesday will be the first true road game this season for UT with the only games not taking place in Austin were back on Feb. 27-Mar. 1 in the Bruce Bolt Classic in Houston and played in Daikin Park.
Seven players are hitting over .300 led by Aiden Robbins at .390. He also paces the team with six home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs. Both Temo Becerra (.385, 17 RBI) and Ethan Mendoza (.356, 14 RBI) have hit four homers apiece. Also hitting over .300 are Casey Borba (.333, 14 RBI), Ashton Larson (.310), Anthony Pack Jr. (.333, 17 RBI) and Adrian Rodriguez (.328, 11 RBI).
Scheduled to start on the rubber is Sam Cozart. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 18 strikeouts in 13.0 innings over three appearances, including two starts. He has started the last two midweek contests against Houston Christian and UTRGV in which he combined to allow one run in 9.0 innings and strikeout 14.
SERIES VS. LONGHORNS
Texas leads the all-time series 56-17. Over the last eight meetings, Texas State has won five of them with four victories in Austin and one in Houston.
When hosting the Longhorns, the Bobcats are 2-11 all-time. The last home win was a 7-6 walk-off victory on Apr. 23, 2019. The first-ever win in San Marcos was an 11-10 contest that also ended with a walk-off hit in the 10th inning on Mar. 21, 2017.
