SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time since 2022, Texas State (16-8, 3-3 Sun Belt) will travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia State (13-13, 2-4 Sun Belt) for a three-game series. Friday's opener is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. CT and followed by a 3 p.m. CT first pitch on Saturday and a 10:30 a.m. CT start for Sunday's finale.

The Bobcats head into the weekend on a four-game winning streak following a walk-off victory over UTRGV on Tuesday. TXST is 3-5 when playing away from San Marcos this season but have dropped all five of its true road games this season.

Rashawn Galloway enters the series on a 17-game hitting streak that has seen him go 34-for-70 (.486) at the plate with 20 RBI, 18 runs, 11 doubles and two home runs. He has recorded 12 multi-hit games in that span. For the season, the senior is leading Texas State in average (.394), runs (23) and doubles (12) while driving in 25 runs.

Jackson Cotton (18 RBI) and
Dawson Park (31 RBI) have hit a team-high seven homers. Park is also on a double-digit hitting streak at 15 games.
Manny Salas is the only other Bobcats with a batting average over .300 at .349 and has also hit six round trippers.

Kyle Froehlich will make his seventh consecutive Friday start and enters the game with a 2-1 record, 4.08 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 28.2 innings.
Sam Hall gets the ball on Saturday and has struck out 12 in 12.1 innings spanning five starts. Rounding out the rotation is
Jesus Tovar. The lefty is 5-1 with a 2.97 ERA and 29 strikeouts.

ABOUT GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers are coming off a midweek loss at home to Alabama State on Tuesday. They are 9-6 at home this season with a 2-1 mark in Sun Belt play after winning the series last weekend over Arkansas State. GSU began league action by being swept at Marshall.

John Beverley is the lone player hitting over .300 with a .386 average. He also paces the team with 16 stolen bases. Joining him with double-digit steals is Wills Maginnis with 11. Hunter Carlson has a team-high 27 RBI and both he and Maginnis have hit four home runs. A squad best seven doubles and three triples belong to Nick Garagozzo.

Getting the ball on Friday will be Tysen Benford. The right-hander is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 30.0 innings. Left-hander Jake Hembree will start on Saturday and comes in with a 1-1 record and a team-high 32 strikeouts and 22 walks. Rounding out the rotation will be Cole Roberts, who has punched out 17 in 22.2 innings spanning five starts.

SERIES VS. PANTHERS
Texas State leads the all-time series 20-8 having won the last seven meetings. Last time the teams faced off was on May 25, 2023 in the Sun Belt Tournament that ended 6-5 in 12 innings on Daylen Pena's solo home run.

When playing in Atlanta, the Bobcats are 8-1 all-time. That includes sweeps in 2018 and 2022 and a series win in 2015. The last series played at Georgia State saw TXST clinch the 2022 outright conference regular season title.
