SAN MARCOS, Texas – Tuesday's Texas State home baseball game against UTRGV will feature the inaugural Spanish language broadcast on KTSW 89.9 FM. It will begin at 6 p.m. with fans being able to listen on
https://ktswblog.net.
The first-ever Spanish language broadcast is the result of a partnership between the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, the Department of World Languages and Literatures, Texas State Athletics and Texas State Global. Together, we open the mic to new voices and new audiences across our Bobcat community.
Tuesday's game will be the first of two Spanish language radio home broadcasts this season. The second will be for the April 28 game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Journalism professor Dino Chiecchi will be calling the game along with World Language professor Marcos Garcia Barrero. Texas State University President Kelly Damphousse will join the broadcast while KTSW students will be producing the broadcast.
"This is so exciting and the timing is perfect. Texas State has a great baseball team, a proud group of fans and now a growing base of listeners with our Spanish-language broadcast," Chiecchi said. "We will be broadcasting a second game this season and see what the future holds for more in the future."
We're proud to bring Bobcat baseball to our fans in Spanish for the very first time on KTSW 89.9 FM, Texas State's student radio station. Welcome to our listeners on the radio and online at
