Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at UTSA Invitational

SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State track and field opens the outdoor season Friday at the UTSA Invitational, held at the Park West Athletic Complex in San Antonio.

The two-day meet is scheduled for March 20-21, with events beginning at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Bobcats will compete in a 12-team field that includes Arkansas, Incarnate Word, Northern Arizona, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Our Lady of the Lake, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M, Texas, UTSA and William Carey.

Texas State enters the outdoor campaign amid a historic stretch, capturing four conference titles over the past two seasons. The Bobcats swept both the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Championships and the 2026 Sun Belt Indoor Championships and will look to continue that momentum in their final season competing in the Sun Belt Conference.

On the men's side, Texas State returns six All-Sun Belt performers from last outdoor season — Drew Donley, Easton Hammond, Aiden Hayes, Connor Warzecha, Mihajlo Katanic and Danie Strooh.

Hayes earned 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Men's Field Performer of the Year honors and was most recently named the 2026 Sun Belt Indoor Men's Field Performer of the Year. Donley was recognized as the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Men's Newcomer of the Year.

The women's team returns five All-Sun Belt honorees in Abigail Parra, Melanie Duron, Lara Roberts, Charlize Goody and Sophia Haberer.

Parra was named the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Women's Track Performer of the Year and most recently earned 2026 Sun Belt Indoor Women's Track Performer of the Year honors. Goody was selected as the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Women's Freshman of the Year.

Several freshmen and transfers are also expected to make their Texas State outdoor debuts this weekend.
