ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats are coming off a Tuesday loss to second-ranked Texas at home. The only true road game that the team has played this season was a midweek contest at Baylor back on Feb. 17. Over the first four weekend series, Texas State has won all of them including sweeps of Niagara and the College Baseball Series in Cleburne, Texas.
Â
Manny Salas leads the Bobcats with a .370 batting average and .704 slugging percentage. He is one of three players to have scored a team leading 15 runs along with
Jackson Cotton and
Rashawn Galloway. Salas' four home runs are tied for the most on the team with
Dawson Park and Cotton.
Â
Coming into the weekend on a nine-game hitting streak is Galloway. The senior has hit a team-high 10 doubles while batting .338 with 16 RBI. Park leads the squad with 21 RBI and has hit a homer in a program record tying four consecutive games.
Â
Also batting over .300 is
Clayton Namken (.379; 10 RBI) and
Jaquae Stewart (.333; 9 RBI).
Â
Kyle Froehlich will make his fifth straight Friday start. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 3.66 ERA in 19.2 innings. He has struck out 22 and walked just one.
Sam Hall is slotted to start on Saturday and enters the game with a 1-0 record, 5.40 ERA and seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings spanning three midweek starts.
Â
Getting the ball on Sunday will be
Jesus Tovar. The lefty has allowed just one run in 25.0 innings for a 0.36 ERA, the seventh lowest in the nation. He leads the Sun Belt with four victories and has struck out a team-high 26 while limiting opponents to a .130 batting average.
Â
ABOUT ULM
The Warhawks are coming off a series loss at UT Arlington that saw them salvage the series with a 12-2 victory on Sunday. When playing at home, ULM is 7-4, which includes a series sweep of Western Illinois and slitting a four-game series to open the season against Central Arkansas.

Â
SERIES VS. WARHAWKS
Texas State leads the all-time series 57-39. The Bobcats have won the last four meetings and 15 of the last 20 dating back to the 2019 season. The 96 meetings are the most for TXST against any current Sun Belt program.
Â
When facing the Warhawks on the road, the Bobcats are 22-21 all-time. Last time they met in Monroe was in 2024 with the hosts winning the first two games before Texas State salvaged the series with a 13-11 victory. The only time that the Bobcats have won a series on the road since joining the Sun Belt was in 2022 when they swept the three-game set.
