STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Texas State track & field standouts

Ja'Shaun Lloyd concluded competition at the 2026 USATF Indoor Championships this weekend at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Lloyd opened competition Saturday in the men's 60-meter hurdles, clocking a personal-best 7.65 seconds in the preliminaries. The mark meets the World Athletics Championships qualifying standard and ranks among the top times nationally this season. Lloyd narrowly missed advancing to the final.
Hayes competed Sunday in the men's high jump, clearing 2.16 meters to place fourth overall against a field featuring the nation's top professionals and collegians. Hayes finished just behind former Texas State standout
Kason O'Riley, who cleared 2.21 meters to earn a third-place finish.
Lloyd returned to the track later in the meet for the men's 60 meters, posting a time of 6.68 seconds to place 14th in the preliminary round.
Texas State will return to action March 13-14 at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The NCAA will announce the full list of qualifiers March 3.
