WBB Closes Road Trip at Troy, Louisiana

TROY, Alabama — Texas State women's basketball closes its road trip out with games at Troy on Jan. 7 at 6 pm and Louisiana on Jan. 10 at 3 pm.

The pair of games will both be streamed on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE TROJANS

Troy enters the week with an 11-3 record on the year and are 2-1 in Sun Belt play.
The Trojans are led by head coach Chanda Rigby who is in her 14th season leading the program. She has a 266-160 record in her tenure.
Fortuna Ngnawo leads the Trojans with an average of 15.29 points per game. She is one of four Trojans averaging double digits, alongside Emani Jenkins (13.79), Zay Dyer (12.50), and Ashley Baez (10.0).
Defensively, Dyer leads the way with 11.93 rebounds per game, while Ngnawo has 9.57.

SERIES HISTORY VS TROJANS

Texas State is 5-13 all-time against Troy.
Texas State lost both meetings between the two teams last season, one 105-58 on Jan. 23 and one 86-66 on Feb. 26.
Texas State's last win came on Jan. 16, 2018 by a 83-75 scoreline.

ABOUT THE RAGIN CAJUNS

Louisiana enters the week with an 1-13 record, having gone 0-4 in Sun Belt play. Louisiana will host the ULM Warhawks before playing the Bobcats on Jan. 10.
The Ragin Cajuns are led by head coach Garry Broadhead who is in his 14th season leading the program. He has a 216-194 record in his tenure.
Amijah Price is leading the scorer for the Ragin Cajuns with 13.29 points per night. She is one of four averaging double-digits, alongside Imani Daniel (11.86), Mikaylah Manley (11.36) and Jazmyne Jackson (11.00).
Daniel is the leading rebounder for Louisiana as well, averaging 6.57 per night.

Texas State is 13-19 all-time against Louisiana.
Texas State won the previous meeting this season by a 62-55 scoreline on Dec. 17.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS

The Freshmen: Texas State has added two freshmen, Angela Carroll and Kaliyah Murphy.
The Transfers: Texas State has added seven transfers, including three Division I transfers.
- The Bobcats added Deja Jones (Gr., Indiana State), Myri Walker (Sr., South Alabama), and KP Parr (So., Wichita State) to this year from other Division I institutions.
- Antoine brought in four junior college transfers as well, Myla Harbor (Hinds), Kyla McBride(Northwest Florida State), Kyaija Stewart (Daytona State) and Kyra Anderson (Tyler).
The Returners: Antoine returns four members from 2024-2025 to this year's team.
- Saniya Burks leads the returners for minutes played and points scored last year as she enters her sophomore season. She started the season with a nations-best 34 points against Ohio and has double digits in eight of 12 games so far this season.
- Taleiyah Gibbs played in 25 games for the Bobcats last season off the bench and returns for her junior season as well.
- Also returning are Mia Galbraith who missed the year with an ACL injury, and Takeira Ramey who missed the latter half of last season with an ACL injury.
