SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State head women's basketball coach Chris Kielsmeier unveiled his first non-conference schedule at the Bobcat helm, announcing a slate that will usher TXST into the Pac-12 era.
The Bobcats' non-conference schedule features 16 regular-season contests, including ten games inside Strahan Arena, along with an exhibition match-up against UTRGV on October 29. The slate includes a blend of in-state and regional rivalries and a handful of first-time opponents, with action officially tipping off at home on November 4 against Long Island.
The opening month also features home match-ups with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Pacific, Bradley and UTEP and road trips to Chicago State, UIW and Lamar.
December opens with the team's longest road trip of the non-conference slate as TXST travels to North Dakota before returning home to host Nevada, Prairie View A&M and UTSA. The Bobcats will then head to New Orleans for tournament action at Tulane, opening with Arkansas Pine-Bluff before a possible match-up with either the host school or Stonehill.
Brown and Howard Payne, a stop where Kielsmeier left as the school's all-time winningest coach, are set to come to town to usher in the new year, before what is sure to be an exciting first year in the Pac-12.
